Though no official statement has been issued, the Manhattan Theatre Club, which produces both on and Off-Broadway, told the New York Times that it will stage a world premiere by U.K. playwright Penelope Skinner. The announcement appears to be in response to complaints from the theatre community that the 2015-16 slate contained only plays written by white men.
