Spider-Man Turn off the Dark may hold the record for the longest preview period in Broadway history, finally opening officially after running for some six and a half months and 182 performances, nearly a fifth of the number of official post-opening performances it would give (1,066) during its overall run. It also postponed its opening four times in all.
