Madrid's Teatro Real stages the world premiere of a new opera based on Anne Proulx's 1997 short story "Brokeback Mountain," which was adapted into the 2005 Academy Award-winning Ang Lee film, beginning Jan. 28. It features a libretto by Proulx and a score by Charles Wuorinen.
