Just as Shakespeare's poetry nestles surprisingly smoothly in the cadences of Caribbean characters, Tarell Alvin McCraney's vision transplanting Antony and Cleopatra to 18th Century Haiti is less jarring and more intriguing than doubters might expect. An exotic vitality vibrates through this production of GableStage, Royal Shakespeare Company and Public Theater.
