With every conference I attend and every person I talk with currently holding a PhD in theater… the mantra is always the same: there are vastly more PhD graduates in theater than there are jobs for them to fill. Furthermore, the question about the necessity of such a degree and its place in the halls of academia is becoming more and more, well…questionable.
