Vineyard Theatre, one of thousands of downtown tenants in the shadow of a blackout following the Oct. 29 landfall of Hurricane Sandy, is suspending performances of its world-premiere production of Checkers until further notice, the company announced on Oct. 30. The opening, planned for Oct. 31, has been postponed.
