A stage version of William Peter Blatty's horror novel "The Excorcist" will have heads turning starting July 3 at Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, where Brooke Shields plays the mother of a girl possessed by the devil. Tony Award winner John Doyle stages the adaptation by John Pielmeier, the playwright whose Agnes of God also dealt with faith and the supernatural.
