Born the eldest of six children over a fish and chip shop in Ebbw Vale to Italian-Welsh parents, Victor Spinetti went on to work with Hollywood stars of the stature of Richard and Elizabeth Burton, theatre royalty that included Laurence Olivier, and the Beatles, appearing in three of their five films. Not bad, he once said, for a self-styled "Welsh wop".
