Students at Conard High School in West Hartford used a theater project to revisit a controversy that roiled the school just five years ago, when the Conard sports team name and mascot was challenged as being racist. The script for "The Chieftain Project" was created from verbatim transcripts from dozens of interviews with key participants in the debate.
